Dear reader,

It is with great regret we bring you the following news....

As you’re no doubt aware The Festival Times was one of the most exciting developments in the free-wheeling world of the festival last year. Featured at six festivals the paper quickly won friends and fans, presenting you with a memento of the occasion alongside exclusive in-depth interviews with both the main and up-and-coming acts of the event.

The idea for the publication was put together by Simon Dempsey, who had a vision of a free paper that would be loved by audiences all over the UK. He imagined people enjoying having something that would give you a different perspective of your festival skyline. However this picture is in jeopardy now as we’ve struggled to secure funds to give the paper the boost it’s needed this year.

Couple this with the fact that Simon was involved in a motorbike accident earlier this year when a car careered into him. This left him with two broken arms and suddenly our outlook has clouds on the horizon. No doubt you can visualize the upset and frustration this has caused, as the driving force and momentum for the project has been sidelined making an already difficult time extremely tough. So despite the fantastic response the Festival Times has won from both readers and the industry alike we’re in extreme jeopardy of not being able to run a second year.

What we do have is a small dedicated team of production staff able to construct a quality publication with an individual attitude. Our top team of designers and journalists have the experience within the music business to deliver a quality work that reflects current interest in topical and fun formats.

As a result of these circumstances we’re sending a plea out to you, our supporters. We’re asking everyone for help, whether it be with business skills, ideas, opportunities or contacts. If you’ve got the slightest idea of something that might help us, we’d love to hear about it over email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) This way we can keep The Festival Times running for the benefit of you, the party-goers, music lovers, free-spirits of that beautiful, blissful escape that still is this country’s great festival scene.

Yours truly, your friends at Festival Times.
